CMstat

Legacy Data Migration with SIRT

CMstat uses a proven data integration method to identify, format and migrate legacy data into its newly implemented system. Given to proper information, CMstat will normally quote a firm fixed price for the migration service. The process is broken down into two phases: Data Screen Mapping and Data Migration.

Data Mapping

The Data Mapping Phase is performed at the customer site and normally is accomplished in five to ten working days depending on the number of databases and complexity of the data.

During the mapping all data elements moved from legacy systems are identified and co-located into actual CMstat activity screens. The result of this data integration, consolidation and retrieval is a data map and format into which the legacy data must be extracted.

This neutral format contains the data structure and relationships required by the CMstat database and essential for good configuration management practice.

Data Migration

Once Data Mapping is complete and the extracted data is delivered to CMstat, we begin the actual Migration Process which involves test migrations and data analysis to ensure data integrity and location in the database. Normally this will involve two to three passes of the data until it correctly migrates.

The Migration Process may be completed in two to four weeks depending on availability of customer resources to make the necessary corrections.

Once the test data migration is validated for data quality and accepted by both parties, the final migration is run, and the production database is delivered to the customer.

CMstat utilizes its SIRT® (Software Interface Requirements Template) utility to perform migrations. The SIRT utility is commercially available for purchase by CMstat customers.
