CMstat has entered into a strategic agreement with Flux Corporation, Billings, MT to integrate "Flux BPM," a web-based Business Process Management software suite offering advanced electronic workflow functionality with Epoch.
CMstat's Epoch product line including DM, CM, As-Configured and PLM will include the optional Business Process Management (BPM) module for those customers that wish to fully automate their Configuration and Data Management processes.
BPM vs. Workflow
Workflow graphically, and logically, represents all your business and systems processes and how they flow and interact with one another, with their associated rules and dependencies. The Workflow may be as simple or as complex as you wish.
In the jargon-riddled world of IT, a Workflow is typically a series of system-to-system processes (referred to as S2S).
Regardless, all you should care about is that you can easily define, manage, and rely upon your Workflow to automatically run the various processes and steps that are the backbone to the smooth operation of your business function.
You may require a specific stage where human intervention is necessary, Merging system and human processes is commonly referred to as Business Process Management (BPM).
The human interaction may be simple or complex, whatever is required. For example, the human stage of a workflow may involve the user sending a private email to a colleague for authorization. This would be a human-to human process (H2H). This is where BPM excels, in combining Workflow automation with human dialogue and decision making.
With the advent of strict governance as typified by the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX), it is anticipated that more and more companies and institutions will require BPM and Workflow solutions that comprise of S2S, H2H, H2S, and S2H processes.
Combining the in-depth features and functionality of Epoch with BPM gives you a powerful tool to manage your Data, Documents and Processes. As with all CMstat products, Epoch is "off the shelf" assuring you fast implementation and ROI.
