The CMstat Document Management module is fully integrated providing the ability to create and cross-reference documents to other documents, parts or changes on a one to many, many to one or many to many relationship. A full set of search operators are provided to for ease of use in identifying and finding documents. All versions of the document are accessible with proper permissions.

Document Viewing Storage and Retrieval (Two Level Security)

Metadata and cross-referenced information is easily accessed through a Contract/project security system.

The actual drawing or document is stored in the CMvault where an second set of user permissions can be set up to further enhance security. While a user may have permission to view Metadata, he may not be allowed to view the actual document.

The CMvault provides check in/check-out and copy out functionality. When a document is checked out to be worked on, it is locked to preclude two users working on the same document at the same time and stepping on each other's work. The system provides the name and contact information of the user working on the document.

Versioning

In conjunction with the Change module, Workflow and the CMvault, changes may be put through a Document Review workflow template to allow electronic routing and analysis of intending changes. CCB's and Document Design Reviews may be conducted online in a collaborative environment to speed the change process bringing supply chain partners to a virtual meeting to discuss and decide upon impending changes.

The CMstat system incorporates the changes and rolls the revision, once the document has been checked out, changes executed and it is checked back into the vault under the new revision. All historic revisions and associated change paper remains accessible to the user.

Prior to the document being revised, users may access the WIP module for a picture of the current document revision with its unincorporated changes.
